SaṅghādisesakaṇḍaSaṅghādisessikkhāpada

[448] A man sends a bhikkhu, saying: "Go, venerable sir, and say to the woman of such-and-such a name who is protected by her mother (māturakkhitā), and to the one protected by her father (piturakkhitā): 'It is said that you are to be the temporary wives (muhuttikā) of the man of such-and-such a name.'" He accepts, inquires, and reports back: an offense of saṅghādisesa. A man sends a bhikkhu, saying: "Go, venerable sir, and say to the woman of such-and-such a name who is protected by her mother, and to the one protected by her mother and father … protected by her mother, and to the one protected by her brother … protected by her mother, and to the one protected by her sister … protected by her mother, and to the one protected by her relatives … protected by her mother, and to the one protected by her clan … protected by her mother, and to the one protected by dhamma … protected by her mother, and to the one who is under protection (sārakkhā) … protected by her mother, and to the one protected under penalty of law (saparidaṇḍā): 'It is said that you are to be the temporary wives of the man of such-and-such a name.'" He accepts, inquires, and reports back: an offense of saṅghādisesa. The Partial Cycle (khaṇḍacakka).
