Vinayapiṭaka · Bhikkhu Vibhaṅga (1) · Vol. 1 · Section 462

[462] A man sends a bhikkhu, saying: "Go, venerable sir, say to the woman of such-and-such a name, who is protected by threat of punishment (saparidaṇḍā): 'Be, so it is said, the wife of the man of such-and-such a name — both a temporary wife (muhuttikā) and a wife bought with money (dhanakkītā) … both a temporary wife and a wife carried off as booty (dhajāhaṭā).'" He accepts the errand, he inquires, he brings back the reply: an offense of Saṅghādisesa. The single-rooted series (ekamūlaka) is finished.
