Vinayapiṭaka · Bhikkhu Vibhaṅga (1) · Vol. 1 · Section 475

[475] In the case of a woman protected by a penalty (saparidaṇḍā), the one by whom the penalty has been decreed sends a bhikkhu, saying: "Go, venerable sir, and say to the man named so-and-so: 'May she be the wife of so-and-so — both a wife living together by consent (chandavāsinī) and a wife living together for wealth (bhogavāsinī) … both a wife living together by consent and a temporary wife (muhuttikā); both a wife living together by consent and a wife bought with money (dhanakkītā).'" If he accepts, inquires, and reports back, there is an offense of saṅghādisesa. The linked wheel (baddhacakka) is concluded. The root series is given in brief.
