[653] If she should speak thus: "I heard the venerable one, while seated, addressing a woman with lewd words" — if he acknowledges that, he is to be dealt with for the offense (āpatti).¹
If she should speak thus: "I heard the venerable one, while seated, addressing a woman with lewd words" — if he should speak thus: "It is true I was seated, but I did not address the woman with lewd words," he is to be dealt with for the sitting. … "I was not seated; rather, I was lying down," he is to be dealt with for the lying down. … "I was not seated; rather, I was standing," he is not to be dealt with.
