[637] … [and being seated privately on such a seat with a woman, if a female lay follower (upāsikā) whose word can be trusted, having seen him,] should charge him with one of three matters — with an offense entailing defeat (pārājika), with an offense entailing initial and subsequent meetings of the Saṅgha (saṅghādisesa), or with an offense entailing expiation (pācittiya) — then the bhikkhu, acknowledging the sitting, is to be dealt with according to one of the three matters: the pārājika, the saṅghādisesa, or the pācittiya; or else that bhikkhu is to be dealt with according to whatever matter that trustworthy female lay follower should charge him with.
