[638] If she should say thus: "The venerable one was seen by me sitting, engaging in sexual intercourse (methunaṃ dhammaṃ) with a woman (mātugāma)," and if he acknowledges it, he should be dealt with according to the offence (āpatti).
If she should say thus: "The venerable one was seen by me sitting, engaging in sexual intercourse with a woman," and if he should say thus: "It is true that I was sitting, but I was not engaging in sexual intercourse," he should be dealt with for the sitting.
If she should say thus: "The venerable one was seen by me sitting, engaging in sexual intercourse with a woman," and if he should say thus: "I was not sitting; rather, I was lying down," he should be dealt with for the lying down.
If she should say thus: "The venerable one was seen by me sitting, engaging in sexual intercourse with a woman," and if he should say thus: "I was not sitting; rather, I was standing," he should not be dealt with.
