[215] "'Bhikkhus, I say that the acquisition of views (diṭṭhipaṭilābha) is of two kinds: that which should be cultivated and that which should not be cultivated; and each of these is an acquisition of views.' So indeed was this said by the Blessed One. And in dependence on what was it said? Venerable sir, the kind of acquisition of views such that, when one cultivates it, unwholesome states (akusalā dhammā) increase and wholesome states (kusalā dhammā) diminish — such an acquisition of views should not be cultivated. And, venerable sir, the kind of acquisition of views such that, when one cultivates it, unwholesome states diminish and wholesome states increase — such an acquisition of views should be cultivated."
