[528] Bhikkhus, and how does one run back to the past? Thinking, 'I had such form (rūpa) in the past,' one pursues delight (nandi) therein. Thinking, 'I had such feeling (vedanā) in the past,' one pursues delight therein. Thinking, 'I had such perception (saññā) in the past,' one pursues delight therein. Thinking, 'I had such volitional formations (saṅkhārā) in the past,' one pursues delight therein. Thinking, 'I had such consciousness (viññāṇa) in the past,' one pursues delight therein. Thus, bhikkhus, does one run back to the past.
