[573] "And how, bhikkhu, does one not run back to the past? Thinking, 'I had such form (rūpa) in the past,' one does not bring delight along after that. Thinking, 'I had such feeling (vedanā) …' 'I had such perception (saññā) …' 'I had such volitional formations (saṅkhārā) …' Thinking, 'I had such consciousness (viññāṇa) in the past,' one does not bring delight along after that. It is thus, bhikkhu, that one does not run back to the past."
