[572] "And how, bhikkhu, does one run back to the past? Thinking, 'I had such form (rūpa) in the past,' one draws delight (nandi) along after that; thinking, 'I had such feeling (vedanā) …'; 'I had such perception (saññā) …'; 'I had such volitional formations (saṅkhārā) …'; thinking, 'I had such consciousness (viññāṇa) in the past,' one draws delight along after that. It is thus, bhikkhu, that one runs back to the past."
