[529] And how, bhikkhus, does one not run back to the past? One does not pursue delight (nandī) there, thinking, 'I had such form in the past.' One does not pursue delight there, thinking, 'I had such feeling (vedanā) in the past.' One does not pursue delight there, thinking, 'I had such perception in the past.' One does not pursue delight there, thinking, 'I had such volitional formations in the past.' One does not pursue delight there, thinking, 'I had such consciousness in the past.' Thus, bhikkhus, one does not run back to the past.
