Thinking, 'May I have such form (rūpa) in the future,' one directs delight thereto; thinking, 'May I have such feeling (vedanā) …'; thinking, 'May I have such perception (saññā) …'; thinking, 'May I have such volitional formations (saṅkhārā) …'; thinking, 'May I have such consciousness (viññāṇa) in the future,' one directs delight thereto. That, friends, is how one anticipates the future."
