[575] "And how, bhikkhu, does one not anticipate the future? Thinking, 'May I have such form (rūpa) in the future,' one does not send delight (nandi) along after that; thinking, 'May I have such feeling (vedanā) …'; 'May I have such perception (saññā) …'; 'May I have such volitional formations (saṅkhārā) …'; thinking, 'May I have such consciousness (viññāṇa) in the future,' one does not send delight along after that. Thus indeed, bhikkhu, one does not anticipate the future."
