[146] And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu accomplished in wise attention (yonisomanasikāra) develop the Noble Eightfold Path (ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga), cultivate the Noble Eightfold Path? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu develops right view (sammādiṭṭhi), which culminates in the removal of lust (rāga), culminates in the removal of hatred, culminates in the removal of delusion … he develops right concentration (sammāsamādhi), which culminates in the removal of lust, culminates in the removal of hatred, culminates in the removal of delusion. It is in this way, bhikkhus, that a bhikkhu accomplished in wise attention develops the Noble Eightfold Path, cultivates the Noble Eightfold Path.

Good friendship and virtue,
desire and accomplishment in self,
