[175] "And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu who has a good friend (kalyāṇamitta) develop the Noble Eightfold Path (ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga), and cultivate the Noble Eightfold Path? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu develops right view (sammādiṭṭhi), which culminates in the removal of lust (rāga), culminates in the removal of hatred, culminates in the removal of delusion … he develops right concentration (sammāsamādhi), which culminates in the removal of lust, culminates in the removal of hatred, culminates in the removal of delusion. It is in this way, bhikkhus, that a bhikkhu who has a good friend develops the Noble Eightfold Path and cultivates the Noble Eightfold Path."
