[184] "And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu who is developing the Noble Eightfold Path (ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga), who is cultivating the Noble Eightfold Path, come to slant towards Nibbāna, slope towards Nibbāna, incline towards Nibbāna? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu develops right view (sammādiṭṭhi) dependent on seclusion (viveka), dependent on dispassion (virāga), dependent on cessation (nirodha), maturing in relinquishment (vossagga)… he develops right concentration (sammāsamādhi) dependent on seclusion, dependent on dispassion, dependent on cessation, maturing in relinquishment. It is in this way, bhikkhus, that a bhikkhu who is developing the Noble Eightfold Path, who is cultivating the Noble Eightfold Path, comes to slant towards Nibbāna, slope towards Nibbāna, incline towards Nibbāna."
