[273] "And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu — depending on virtue (sīla), established in virtue — developing the Noble Eightfold Path (ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga), making much of the Noble Eightfold Path, attain growth, increase, and abundance in dhammas? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu develops right view (sammādiṭṭhi), which depends on seclusion (viveka), depends on dispassion (virāga), depends on cessation (nirodha), and matures in relinquishment (vossagga) … he develops right concentration (sammāsamādhi), which depends on seclusion, depends on dispassion, depends on cessation, and matures in relinquishment. It is in this way, bhikkhus, that a bhikkhu — depending on virtue, established in virtue — developing the Noble Eightfold Path, making much of the Noble Eightfold Path, attains growth, increase, and abundance in dhammas."
