Suttapiṭaka · Khuddakanikāya · Paṭisambhidāmagga · Vol. 31 · Section 703

[703] And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu — depending on virtue (sīla), established in virtue — developing the Noble Eightfold Path (ariya aṭṭhaṅgika magga), cultivating the Noble Eightfold Path, attain growth, increase, and abundance in dhammas? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu develops Right View (sammādiṭṭhi), which depends on seclusion (viveka), depends on dispassion (virāga), depends on cessation (nirodha), and matures in relinquishment (vossagga); he develops Right Thought (sammāsaṅkappa); he develops Right Speech (sammāvācā); he develops Right Action (sammākammanta); he develops Right Livelihood (sammā-ājīva); he develops Right Effort (sammāvāyāma); he develops Right Mindfulness (sammāsati); he develops Right Concentration (sammāsamādhi), which depends on seclusion, depends on dispassion, depends on cessation, and matures in relinquishment. For Right View there are five seclusions, five dispassions, five cessations, five relinquishments — twelve dependences (nissaya). For Right Thought … for Right Speech, for Right Action, for Right Livelihood, for Right Effort, for Right Mindfulness, for Right Concentration there are five seclusions, five dispassions, five cessations, five relinquishments — twelve dependences.
