[466] "And how, bhikkhus, does a bhikkhu accomplished in wise attention (yoniso manasikāra) develop the seven factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga), and cultivate the seven factors of awakening? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu develops the awakening factor of mindfulness (sati), dependent on seclusion (viveka), dependent on dispassion (virāga), dependent on cessation (nirodha), maturing in relinquishment (vossagga) … he develops the awakening factor of equanimity (upekkhā), dependent on seclusion, dependent on dispassion, dependent on cessation, maturing in relinquishment. It is in this way, bhikkhus, that a bhikkhu accomplished in wise attention develops the seven factors of awakening and cultivates the seven factors of awakening."
