Kusalarāsisutta

Suttapiṭaka · Saṁyuttanikāya · Mahāvaggasaṁyutta · Vol. 19 · Section 826

[826] Bhikkhus, one speaking of "a heap of the wholesome (kusalarāsi)" would, in speaking rightly, speak of the four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna). For this heap of the wholesome, bhikkhus, is entirely just this, namely, the four establishments of mindfulness. What four? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu dwells contemplating the body in the body. He dwells contemplating [feelings (vedanā)] in feelings, [the mind (citta)] in the mind, dhammas in dhammas — ardent, clearly comprehending, mindful, having removed covetousness and grief regarding the world. Bhikkhus, one speaking of "a heap of the wholesome" would, in speaking rightly, speak of these four establishments of mindfulness. For this heap of the wholesome, bhikkhus, is entirely just this, namely, the four establishments of mindfulness.
