[279] One who is fully ordained (upasampanna), having heard it from one fully ordained, conveys malicious speech (pesuñña) to one fully ordained, saying: "The one named so-and-so says: 'There are here some who are wise, competent, intelligent, learned, speakers of the Dhamma; for them there is no bad destination (duggati); only a good destination (sugati) is to be expected for them' — he speaks of no other; he speaks of you alone." There is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa) for each utterance.
