[667] When the legal act is legitimate (dhammakamma), and he perceives it as a legitimate act, if he does not relinquish [his view], there is an offense of pācittiya. When the legal act is legitimate, and he is in doubt about it, if he does not relinquish, there is an offense of pācittiya. When the legal act is legitimate, and he perceives it as an illegitimate act (adhammakamma), if he does not relinquish, there is an offense of pācittiya.
When the legal act is illegitimate, and he perceives it as a legitimate act, there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). When the legal act is illegitimate, and he is in doubt about it, there is an offense of wrong-doing. When the legal act is illegitimate, and he perceives it as an illegitimate act, there is an offense of wrong-doing.
