[18] Bhikkhus, I do not see even one other thing by which unarisen ill will (byāpāda) does not arise, or arisen ill will is abandoned, so much as this, bhikkhus: the liberation of mind by loving-kindness (mettā cetovimutti). Bhikkhus, for one attending wisely (yoniso manasikaroto) to the liberation of mind by loving-kindness, unarisen ill will does not arise, and arisen ill will is abandoned.
