[27] 10. "You who stand, O deity (devatā), with surpassing beauty (vaṇṇa),
illuminating all the directions
like the star Osadhī—
by what is such beauty yours? …
and your beauty shines in all directions?"
That deity, delighted at being questioned by Moggallāna,
… of what deed this is the fruit:
"I, a human being among humans,
in a former birth in the human world,
saw the Buddha, free from dust,
serene and unclouded;
to him, confident, I gave almsfood (bhikkhā)
with my own hands.
Because of that such beauty is mine, …
and my beauty shines in all directions."
