[371] Going downstream along the bank of the river Candabhāgā,
I saw the Buddha, free from the dust (of defilement), like a royal sāl tree in blossom.
With a mind of serene confidence, glad at heart, I took a timira flower
and strewed it upon the head of the supreme solitary sage (paccekamuni).
In the ninety-first aeon (kappa) from the present I offered that flower in worship;
I know of no bad destination (duggati): this is the fruit of worship of the Buddha (buddhapūjā).
The four analytical knowledges (paṭisambhidā), and these eight liberations (vimokkha) as well,
and the six superknowledges (chaḷabhiññā) have been realized: the Buddha's teaching (sāsana) has been carried out.
Thus indeed the Venerable Elder Timirapupphiya spoke these verses.
The Apadāna of the Elder Timirapupphiya is concluded.
