[168] Which phenomena (dhammā) are wholesome (kusala)? At the time when one develops the path (magga) for rebirth in the form sphere (rūpūpapatti) and, quite secluded from sensual pleasures … enters and dwells in the first jhāna (paṭhamaṃ jhānaṃ) — limited (paritta), with an immeasurable object (appamāṇārammaṇa) — on the earth kasiṇa (pathavīkasiṇa), at that time there is contact (phassa) … there is non-distraction (avikkhepa) … These phenomena are wholesome.
