On the occasion when one develops the path (magga) for rebirth in the form sphere (rūpūpapatti) and, quite secluded from sensual pleasures, … enters upon and dwells in the first jhāna — of difficult practice and sluggish direct knowledge (dukkhāpaṭipadaṃ dandhābhiññaṃ), limited (parittaṃ), with a limited object (parittārammaṇaṃ) — on the earth kasiṇa (pathavīkasiṇaṃ): on that occasion there is contact (phassa) … there is non-distraction (avikkhepa) … These phenomena are wholesome.
