[214] Which, on that occasion, is the life faculty (jīvitindriya)? That which, for those immaterial phenomena (arūpino dhammā), is life span (āyu), persistence (ṭhiti), going on (yapanā), keeping going (yāpanā), functioning (iriyanā), proceeding (vattanā), preservation (pālanā), life (jīvita), the life faculty — this, on that occasion, is the life faculty.
