[527] Which is that form (rūpa) that is the life faculty (jīvitindriya)? That which is the vitality (āyu) of those material phenomena (rūpino dhammā), their persistence (ṭhiti), continuance (yapanā), keeping going (yāpanā), moving on (iriyanā), proceeding (vattanā), preservation (pālanā), their life (jīvita), the life faculty — this is that form that is the life faculty.
