[824] Which phenomena (dhammā) are accompanied by rapture (sappītika)?
On the plane (bhūmi) accompanied by rapture — in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), in the form sphere (rūpāvacara), and in the unincluded (apariyāpanna) — setting aside rapture (pīti), the aggregate of feeling (vedanākkhandha) associated with it … the aggregate of consciousness (viññāṇakkhandha): these phenomena are accompanied by rapture.
Which phenomena are without rapture (appītika)?
On the plane without rapture — in the sense sphere, in the form sphere, in the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), and in the unincluded — the aggregate of feeling … the aggregate of consciousness; and rapture, and all form (rūpa), and the unconditioned element (asaṅkhatā dhātu): these phenomena are without rapture.
