[1040] And how is there (the thought) "So shall I be" (evaṃ bhavissan'ti)? Comparing (oneself) with another person: "As he is a khattiya, so I shall be a khattiya," or "as he is a brahmin (brāhmaṇa), so I shall be a brahmin," or … "as he is neither percipient nor non-percipient (nevasaññī-nāsaññī), so I shall be neither percipient nor non-percipient" — thus there is (the thought) "So shall I be."
