[1041] And how is there [the craving] "I shall be otherwise"? Making comparison with another person: "As that one is a warrior-ruler (khattiya), not so shall I be a warrior-ruler," or "As that one is a brahmin (brāhmaṇa), not so shall I be a brahmin," … or "As that one is neither percipient nor non-percipient (nevasaññīnāsaññī), not so shall I be neither percipient nor non-percipient." Thus there is [the craving] "I shall be otherwise."
