[1066] And how does there come to be [the craving] "By this may I be otherwise"?
Comparing oneself with another person: "As that one is a noble (khattiya), by this may I not be a noble in that same way," or "As that one is a brahmin (brāhmaṇa), by this may I not be a brahmin in that same way," or … "As that one is neither percipient nor non-percipient (nevasaññīnāsaññī), by this may I not be neither percipient nor non-percipient in that same way." Thus there comes to be [the craving] "By this may I be otherwise."
