[1056] And how is there [the thought] "By this I am otherwise"? Comparing [oneself] with another person: "As that one is a khattiya, by this I am not thus a khattiya," or "As that one is a brahmin (brāhmaṇa), by this I am not thus a brahmin," … or "As that one is neither-percipient-nor-non-percipient (nevasaññīnāsaññī), by this I am not thus neither-percipient-nor-non-percipient" — thus there is [the thought] "By this I am otherwise."
