[1060] And how is there [the craving] "By this I shall be otherwise"?
Having compared oneself with another person: [there is the thought] "As that one is a nobleman (khattiya), by this I shall not be a nobleman in that way," or "As that one is a brahmin (brāhmaṇa), by this I shall not be a brahmin in that way," … or "As that one is neither-percipient-nor-non-percipient (nevasaññīnāsaññī), by this I shall not be neither-percipient-nor-non-percipient in that way." Thus there is [the craving] "By this I shall be otherwise."
