[1061] And how is there [the thought] "By this I am lasting" (iminā asasmīti)? Having separated out some phenomenon (dhamma) — form (rūpa), feeling (vedanā), perception (saññā), volitional formations (saṅkhārā), consciousness (viññāṇa) — [there occurs the thought:] "By this I am permanent, I am stable, I am eternal, I am not subject to change." Thus there is [the thought] "By this I am lasting."
