[1064] And how does there come to be (the craving), "By this may I be thus"?
There is (the craving), "By this may I be a noble (khattiya)," or "By this may I be a brahmin (brāhmaṇa)," or "By this may I be a merchant (vessa)," or "By this may I be a worker (sudda)," or "By this may I be a householder (gahaṭṭha)," or "By this may I be one gone forth (pabbajita)," or "By this may I be a deva," or "By this may I be a human being (manussa)," or "By this may I be one having form (rūpī)," or "By this may I be formless (arūpī)," or "By this may I be percipient (saññī)," or "By this may I be non-percipient (asaññī)," or "By this may I be neither percipient nor non-percipient (nevasaññī-nāsaññī)." Thus there comes to be (the craving), "By this may I be thus."
