[180] Therein, what is right livelihood (sammā-ājīva)? That abstaining (ārati) from wrong livelihood (micchā-ājīva), refraining (virati), desisting (paṭivirati), abstinence (veramaṇī); the non-performance (akiriyā), the non-doing (akaraṇa), the non-transgression (anajjhāpatti), the not overstepping of the limit (velā-anatikkama), the destruction of the causeway (setughāta); right livelihood that is a factor of the path (maggaṅga), included in the path (magga) — this is called right livelihood.
