[584] Therein, what is right action (sammākammanta)? That which, with regard to the three kinds of bodily misconduct (kāya-duccarita), is abstaining (ārati), abstinence (virati), refraining (paṭivirati), avoidance (veramaṇī), non-performance (akiriyā), non-doing (akaraṇa), non-committing (anajjhāpatti), non-transgression of the limit (velā-anatikkama), destruction of the causeway (setughāta) — right action, a path factor (maggaṅga), included in the path (maggapariyāpanna): this is called right action.
