Saṁmappadhānavibhaṅgasuttantabhājanīya

[473] "Generates zeal" (chandaṃ janeti): therein, what is zeal (chando)? That which is zeal, zealousness (chandīkatā), desire to act (kattukamyatā), wholesome zeal for dhamma (kusalo dhammacchando) — this is called zeal. He generates this zeal, thoroughly generates it, rouses it up, thoroughly rouses it up, produces it, fully produces it; therefore it is said, "generates zeal."
