[485] "Generates zeal (chanda)": Herein, what is zeal? That which is zeal, zealousness (chandīkatā), desire to act (kattukamyatā), wholesome zeal for dhamma (kusalo dhammacchando) — this is called zeal. He generates this zeal, thoroughly generates it, rouses it, thoroughly rouses it, produces it, fully produces it. Therefore it is said: "generates zeal."
