[467] "Generates zeal (chanda)": Herein, what is zeal? That which is zeal, zealousness (chandīkatā), desire to act (kattukamyatā), wholesome zeal for dhamma (kusalo dhammacchando) — this is called zeal. This zeal he generates, thoroughly generates, arouses, thoroughly arouses, produces, and fully produces. Therefore it is said: "generates zeal."
