[11] Sakavādin: Is the person (puggala) apprehended (upalabbhati) in the real and ultimate sense (sacchikaṭṭha-paramaṭṭhena)?
Paravādin: Yes.
Sakavādin: Is the person apprehended everywhere in the real and ultimate sense?
Paravādin: It should not be said thus.
Sakavādin: Acknowledge the refutation (niggaha): If the person is apprehended in the real and ultimate sense, then indeed, good sir, it should be said, "The person is apprehended everywhere in the real and ultimate sense." What you assert therein — namely, that it should indeed be said, "The person is apprehended in the real and ultimate sense," but it should not be said, "The person is apprehended everywhere in the real and ultimate sense" — is wrong. But if it should not be said, "The person is apprehended everywhere in the real and ultimate sense," then indeed, good sir, it should not be said, "The person is apprehended in the real and ultimate sense." What you assert therein — namely, that it should indeed be said, "The person is apprehended in the real and ultimate sense," but it should not be said, "The person is apprehended everywhere in the real and ultimate sense" — is wrong. …
