[1709] S. Should it not be said: "The Saṅgha accepts an offering (dakkhiṇā)"? P. Yes. S. Were not the four pairs of persons (purisayuga), the eight individual persons (purisapuggala), declared by the Blessed One to be worthy of offerings (dakkhiṇeyya)? P. Yes. S. If the four pairs of persons, the eight individual persons, were declared by the Blessed One to be worthy of offerings, then indeed, sir, it should be said: "The Saṅgha accepts an offering."
