[567] S. Does guidance by others (paravitāraṇā) exist for the Arahant?
P. Yes.
S. But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Bhikkhus, I say that the destruction of the taints (āsava) is for one who knows, for one who sees; not for one who does not know, not for one who does not see. And for one who knows what, bhikkhus, for one who sees what, does the destruction of the taints come about? 'Such is form (rūpa) … such is the passing away of consciousness (viññāṇa)' — for one who knows thus, bhikkhus, for one who sees thus, the destruction of the taints comes about." Is there indeed such a discourse (suttanta)?
P. Yes.
S. Then indeed it should not be said that guidance by others exists for the Arahant.
