[540] S. Does the Arahant have doubt (kaṅkhā)? P. Yes. S. But was it not said by the Blessed One: "Bhikkhus, I say that the destruction (khaya) of the taints (āsava) is for one who knows, for one who sees; not for one who does not know, not for one who does not see. And knowing what, bhikkhus, seeing what, does the destruction of the taints come about? 'Such is form … such is the passing away of consciousness' — for one who knows thus, bhikkhus, for one who sees thus, the destruction of the taints comes about"? Is there indeed such a discourse (suttanta)? P. Yes. S. If so, then it should not be said that the Arahant has doubt.
