In the second jhāna, in the third jhāna, in the fourth jhāna, the mental formation arises there, but the verbal formation does not arise there. In the first jhāna, in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), in the form sphere (rūpāvacara), in the formless sphere (arūpāvacara), there both the mental formation arises and the verbal formation arises.
