[1093] For whomever, wherever, the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) arises, will the mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) arise for that one there?
Yes.
Or else, for whomever, wherever, the mental formation will arise, does the bodily formation arise for that one there?
For all [beings], at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind (citta), and at the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of mind apart from in-and-out breathing (assāsa-passāsā), the mental formation will arise for them there, but the bodily formation does not arise for them there. At the moment of the arising of in-and-out breathing, for them there the mental formation will arise and the bodily formation arises.
