[1094] For whomever, wherever, verbal formation (vacīsaṅkhāra) arises, will mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) arise for that one there?
At the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the final mind (pacchimacitta) accompanied by thought (vitakka) and examination (vicāra), verbal formation arises for them there, but mental formation will not arise for them there. For the others, at the moment of arising of thought and examination, for them there both verbal formation arises and mental formation will arise.
Or, for whomever, wherever, mental formation will arise, does verbal formation arise for that one there?
For all, at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind (citta), [and] at the moment of arising of mind devoid of thought and examination, mental formation will arise for them there, but verbal formation does not arise for them there. At the moment of arising of thought and examination, for them there both mental formation will arise and verbal formation arises.
