[1086] For whomever, wherever, bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) does not arise, has mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) not arisen for that one there?
For all [beings] at the moment of the dissolution of mind (citta), and, apart from in-and-out breaths (assāsapassāsā), at the moment of the arising of mind — for them, bodily formation does not arise there, but it is not the case that mental formation has not arisen for them there. For those being reborn into the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa) and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā) — for them, bodily formation does not arise there, and mental formation has not arisen.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, mental formation has not arisen, does bodily formation not arise for that one there?
